W emulsji z wodą BALLISTOL wykazuje lekką zasadowość (pH 8-8,5) i dzięki temu potrafi neutralizować kwasy. W odróżnieniu od innych tego typu produktów czołowych marek BALLISTOL tworzy emulsję wodną. BALLISTOL miesza się z wodą i przenika przez nią. Po odparowaniu wody BALLISTOL pozostaje na miejscu i konserwuje metal, tworzywo sztuczne czy też drewno. BALLISTOL nie ulega zżywiczeniu. Większość innych olejów technicznych utwardza się z upływem czasu, natomiast BALLISTOL jest mniej podatny na starzenie dzięki połączeniu w jego formule przeciwutleniaczy i olejków leczniczych.
